German University Bangladesh (GUB) has been approved by the Government of Bangladesh and the UGC (University Grants Commission). The idea to establish “German University Bangladesh” first came from Professor Dr.-Ing. Saifullah Khandker, a Bangladeshi who went to Germany for higher studies. He turned German remaining therein for decades as a Professor of notable German Universities. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Saifullah Khandker is the founder of “German University Bangladesh” which is a distinguished landmark in higher education. To this back-drop, it may be mentioned here that the present day scenario on Higher Education System in Bangladesh was presented at a seminar organized by “Initiative German University Bangladesh i.e. IGUB e.V., www.igub.org” wherein the idea for the establishment of GUB was confirmed.
